I keep wanting to swap to summers and give the car and good wash, polish and wax...but everytime I look at the weather, it says ‘rain’ “icy rain” “flurries” the next day. I’m starting to get pissed about it. either finish winter already or stuff us under 5 feet of snow.

Pretty swell actually..

I’ve got a Blackvue dashcam to install, I picked up my Wife’s bike from a tune up, bought some new tires and pedals for mine..

Nice spring weather here finally.

It’s good, trying to wrap up and get the hell outta here to enjoy the weather -- and by enjoy the weather, I mean planting things and maybe some landscaping. But I like that stuff for some reason.

After I spent six months last year living in Regina, you totally can complain.

(Kidding-ish)

On Saturday in Stoon it’s supposed to be 14 degrees and snow, so I’m with you on that. Swapping my all seasons on next week anyway.

Sometimes “mindless” chores are cathartic. I love mowing the lawn, for example, even though everyone I know hates it.

I live here but I don’t have to like it.  Married a nice Saskatchewan girl.  When I woke up I was here.

+1 can’t wait to swap out of winter tires. Hopefully this Saturday with a full detail.

Been better.

The mini is billowing oil smoke in traffic which has me weighing my options of how to rebuild it. It could be valve guides, rings, turbo or all 3. So do finish the sc400 quicker so I can drive that and pull the mini apart, do I buy another motor to rebuild separate, or do i throw more parts at it and hope (buy a turbo)

I semi feel that. Moved for love and my employer said “you want to stay here? Great!” So I do like Saskatchewan, but the winters could be a little nicer.

Do the option with the most amount of reliable car and the least amount of down time. How long would it take to finish the Lexus versus how long will the Mini rebuild take, plus how long before the Mini quits completely?

I dont think it will quit completely any time soon but it’s currently blowing enough smoke through 1st and second to see it puff in my mirror

Least downtime is buying a second motor to rebuild and throw in but that option is at least 3k which is more than I have.

The sc’s about $500 and a 3-4 weekends from working if I really tried and spent the money.

The problem is I can either spend excessive money/time on the mini or the sc, not both

Still considering, finance appropriateness notwithstanding, of buying a responsible vehicle and an irresponsible vehicle (a truck and a BRZ, probably).

The two leading contenders for a replacement for my Mini are a BRZ or a FiST.

The FiST is a really fun car, but it's got its shortcomings. Build quality is not great.

I drive a 15 year old Mini. Lousy build quality is par for the course for me.
